Rampak Gendang
This is a new arrangement of music composed for the
Gendang (two side drums) in West Java.
The specialty lies in the multiple arrangements as well as the beat which
in turn is based dances
such as Ketuk Tilu, Banjet Karawang, Pencak Silat and Tepak Kaleran. In its
development a Rampak Gendang player
should not only be skilled in beating the gendang but also perform on other
instruments combined
with expressive and dynamic movements.
